Palpasa Cafe

About the book

This novel tells the story of Drishya, a Kathmandu-based artist, set during the 10-year Maoist rebellion. He meets and falls in love with Palpasa who has returned to Nepal from the US in search of her roots and identity. In the midst of the raging civil war, Drishya travels to the rural areas of Nepal in his own search for meaning. A major literature hit in Nepal, it addresses a wide range of topics and gives insights into the history and society of a country, which is otherwise reduced by the West to its mountains and economic backwardness.
